 Nine finalists for NC Principal of the Year




  Nine public school principals have been selected as regional Wells Fargo North Carolina Principals of the Year who will now compete for the state title of 2023 Wells Fargo North Carolina Principal of the Year. The winner will succeed the 2022 recipient, Dr. Patrick Greene, principal of Greene Central High School (Greene County Schools). View the nine regional Wells Fargo principals of the year. The Wells Fargo Principal of the Year Award was introduced in 1984 to recognize the critical role of the principal in establishing a culture that supports the pursuit and achievement of academic excellence in North Carolina schools. This years winner will be announced May 19.

Students@Work is a project of the North Carolina Business Committee for Education in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Each week in March different industries are focused on creating career awareness for middle school students. Morehead Planetarium and Science Center will host its first Science for All Summit on April 5-6 at the Friday Conference Center in Chapel Hill. The summit will address access issues and strategies for STEM engagement from early education to career by bringing together leading experts and thought leaders to discuss the latest in advocacy, policy, practice, and research. Racers, science-lovers and fun-seekers, take your mark! The NC Gravity Games will celebrate its 10th running on April 29 in downtown Lenoir. The free, action-packed day is sponsored by Google, Appalachian State University, University of North Carolina (via the NC Science Festival) and the City of Lenoir.
