SMT Center kicks off 2022 with new website

The N.C. Science, Mathematics, Technology (SMT) Center is a non-profit organization focused on improving education as a means of providing all students in North Carolina with the knowledge and skills to have successful careers, be good citizens, and advance the economy of the state. The SMT Center believes that STEM is more than Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It’s Strategies That Engage Minds© through hands-on, active involvement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. The SMT Center recently launched its new website highlighting their great work with upgraded areas on programs, awards, competitions, blog, and more. 2022 Solar+ Schools grants close end of month
|
|
Submissions for the 2022 Solar+ Schools grants close at the end of the month. Any North Carolina K-12 school may apply for a grant of up to $14,000 in related benefits that include donated SunPower solar modules, a STEM curriculum, and teacher training. Apply by Feb. 28.

'Coding in Minecraft' coming to North Carolina
|
|
The N.C. Department of Public Instruction has announced a collaboration with Microsoft and Prodigy Learning to bring the award-winning Coding in Minecraft program to all middle school students across the state over the next three years. This announcement is part of the Four Workforce Goals initiative to better align the K-12 system with industry needs so that students are prepared post-graduation.
