Applications now open for CASMT grants

The Career Award for Science and Mathematics Teachers (CASMT) was created to recognize teachers who have demonstrated solid knowledge of STEM content and have outstanding performance records in educating children. CASMT is a five-year award available to teachers in North Carolina public primary and secondary schools. Funding provides $175,000 during the grant period to eligible teachers and presents opportunities for professional development and collaboration with other master STEM teachers who will help to ensure their success and their satisfaction with the field of teaching. Special consideration will be given to teachers working in hard-to-staff, economically-deprived classrooms in North Carolina. Special consideration also will be given to efforts that integrate environmental science and climate change into STEM-related curriculum. The Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) supports these awards with annual installments. Electronic applications only will be accepted now through 4 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2020. Download the flyer and get more information. Visit this website for complete guidelines and to apply.
