Enriching the STEM Experience for NC students

The Student STEM Enrichment Program (SSEP) through Burroughs Wellcome Fund is now accepting proposals. The SSEP awards provide up to $60,000 per year for three years for the creation and implementation of after-school, weekend, or summer STEM programs. Deadline to apply is April 15. Spots still available for NC Gravity Games

The NC Gravity Games will return for the 10th time on Saturday, April 25, as school-age teams from across the state design, build, and race their gravity-powered cars through the streets of Lenoir. Plus the STEM-themed street festival with hands-on activities, games, food trucks, and more gives spectators and teams a chance to have even more fun on race-day. Register your team by March 13.



Is your school hosting a Family Code Night?

In 2019, 150 North Carolina elementary schools participated in this pilot program. Now, with support from the North Carolina PTA, the North Carolina Principals Association, the Friday Institute of NC State, and a host of state education, political and STEM partners, the goal is to have every elementary school in the state participate this spring.

FIRST is ready for March Madness of Engineering

FIRST North Carolina is a nonprofit dedicated to bringing access to a high-quality FIRST experience to every student in North Carolina. Several events will be happening throughout the state this spring: March 7-8 (UNC Pembroke, Jones Health Center), March 14-15 (ECU, Minges Coliseum), March 21-22 (Eastern Guilford High School), March 28-29 (UNC Asheville, Kimmel Arena), and April 4-5 (Campbell University, Gore Arena). Students@Work Month 2020

Students@Work is a month-long program through the North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE) aimed at exposing middle school students from across the state to real-world, business environments in their communities. In 2019, S@W impacted 47,819 students from across 38 counties and 327 business partners made this initiative a success. Learn more about this year's effort and how you can get involved. UNC Asheville High School Programming Competition

2020 Hispanic Educational Summit
