  NC students find science success in Beijing

The North Carolina International Science Challenge (NCISC) is a yearly science competition hosted by the SMT Center for high school students. This year four selected students - Emile Charles, Geoffrey Fylak, Jenny Huang, Emily Wang - were invited to China to present their original STEM research and Maker projects at the Beijing Youth Science Creation Competition in March. Virginia educator wins Teacher of the Year

Rodney Robinson, a social studies teacher who works with students in juvenile detention at the Virgie Binford Education Center in Richmond, Va., has won the 2019 National Teacher of the Year award.



Two NC metros make Forbes STEM Top 10

Jobs in STEM fields are crucial to the stability and continued growth of the U.S. economy. Durham-Chapel Hill and Raleigh are noted in the top 10 U.S. metropolitan areas with the highest percentage of STEM jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and reporting by Forbes.
