NC teachers head to India on STEM mission

Six North Carolina teachers are traveling to India with EdNC’s Mebane Rash thanks to the Burroughs Wellcome Fund in partnership with the University of North Carolina and Go Global NC. From Bangalore to Delhi to Agra, the teachers are going to India on a fact-finding mission to learn more about economic development, rural education, private and public education, STEM, and building a future-forward education system. They will be visiting schools and other educational outposts to learn more about how India educates its children. EdNC’s coverage in real time will allow you to experience the trip first hand. EdNC introduced this year’s international travel experience to India in this article. Each BWF Scholar will be introduced and featured, starting with this first one. You also can track future related articles through the Sparking STEM section of EdNC as well as track postings and highlights using the hashtag #BWFGLOBAL. Enjoy your e-Update. STEM Trivia

Last issue's STEM Trivia question: When was the last time a total solar eclipse occurred in the Lower 48 states? Bonus point if you know when the next time a total solar eclipse will traverse the United States from coast to coast. The answer: Lower 48 was 1979. The next time a total solar eclipse will traverse from coast to coast will be in 2045. No correct answers this time, but thanks for all the participation. Let's see how well you do with this week's question ...

An elusive new species of ocean sunfish has been discovered by an international team of researchers. The previously undescribed species has been named what?

Think you know the answer? Click here to submit your response to @NCSTEM. If you choose not to click that link, please include the word "answer" in your tweet so we can find it (the link will automatically do so for you). We’ll announce winners in the next e-Update!
